Welcome to our home! It is an 1880's former parsonage in which our family has lived since 1980. Since our four children have become adults, we have renovated part of our house to offer accomodation to medical, nursing, and other health professional trainees on rotation at the Valley Regional Hospital, in Kentville, Nova Scotia.

 

We hope you enjoy your time at the hospital and in the Annapolis Valley, and we've made efforts to create an environment in our home to support your learning and make your stay in our town an enjoyable one.

 

The main floor has a separate entrance for students, a fully equipped modern kitchen, dining area, and a large study/sitting area.

 

A dedicated internet-equipped computer and speaker is available for distance education (ie Bridgit). There is also a 2 piece bathroom adjoining this area and one large bedroom.

 

Upstairs, we have three large bedrooms and one small bedroom, and a full bathroom with bath/shower.

Cost: large rooms – 120.00/week; small room – 100.00/ week

Bookings are by week from Sunday to Saturday. Please pay for occupancy upon arrival by cheque or cash. Credit card payments are possible, but will be charged an additional 2% to cover the merchant's fee.

 

 

Location

Ample free parking is available on the property.

 

Our house is a 15 minute walk, or a 5 minute drive, to the hospital (which has free parking).

 

On foot, there are two ways of getting to the hospital - one through town and the other across a scenic foot bridge (part of some of the great walking trails behind our home).

 

We are in the downtown core, with a large grocery store within a 3 minute walk from our house. Kentville has many other stores, including banks and a post office. New Minas, a major Valley shopping mall area, is a 6 minute drive away. Halifax is a 60 minute drive away.
